ZineCraft guidelines
These apply to every zine published from ZineCraft, whether it is shared by QR or link. Every zine is reviewed by a person before it appears.
Make something worth holding
ZineCraft is for art, stories, ideas and knowledge. Strong opinions, hard subjects, protest, grief, satire and weirdness are all welcome. Zines have always been where difficult and unpopular ideas get a voice.
Not allowed, anywhere
- Hate. Attacking or dehumanizing people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness, including slurs used to demean and hateful symbols used to promote hate.
- Violence. Threats, incitement, glorifying violent attacks or their perpetrators, and support for violent extremist or terrorist groups. Reporting on, documenting or condemning violence is allowed.
- Harassment. Targeting a real person to shame, intimidate or degrade them.
- Private information. Someone's home address, phone number, ID documents or similar, without their consent.
- Child safety. Any sexual or sexualized content involving minors. It is reported to the authorities.
- Intimate images without consent, including fakes and edits.
- Sexually explicit content.
- Self-harm promotion. Content encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Recovery stories and support resources are welcome.
- Illegal goods and dangerous instructions, such as making weapons or drugs.
- Scams and impersonation, including pretending to be another artist or organization.
- Other people's work without permission. Credit your sources and quote briefly.
Hard subjects done right
Content warnings on the cover or first page are encouraged and never count against you.
How review works
A published zine waits for review before its QR code shows anything. If a zine is not approved or is removed later, its page says why. Anyone can report a zine from the bottom of its page, and you can take your own zine down at any time from the phone you published it on.
You must be 16 or older to publish. Questions or appeals: get in touch.
